Save water in the yard

Water is an important natural resource we use every day. Watching howmuch water you use for showering, brushing your teeth and cleaning your house helps save water.
People often overlook the amount of water used outdoors. From washing your car to watering your yard, you may be wasting water outdoors.
Conserving water outside is not only good for the environment, but it is also good for your pocket book. There are several ways you can easily conserve water without losing your lush lawn or a bountiful garden. Here is how to implement them into your yard

For sure you could realize how much water you’re using when doing the outside activities by applying for a reliable and convenient device which could calculate the water volume for  every time use and accumulate to total water volume for several times use.

1.Watering Your Lawn

Only water your grass when it needs it. To test, step on the lawn. If the grass springs back up, you don't need to water. If it remains flat, water it by letting the water soak down deep into the roots. A quick way to know whether you have applied enough water to your yard is to place an empty tuna can on your lawn. Water until the can is full. Also, let your grass grow to at least 3 inches tall. This promotes water retention in the soil.
Water during the most effective time of the day. Watering during the hot hours of the day--between 10 and 3--makes the water evaporate before it can be of use to your lawn. Watering during cooler parts of the day helps your lawn to get more water, so you will need to water less.
Cut a plastic soda bottle in half. Bury it upside down halfway into the ground beside your plant. Instead of watering the entire surface area of your garden, fill the bottles beside each plant. The water goes directly to the root system and not to unused soil in the garden, cutting down on water usage and weeds.

Washing Your Car
When washing your car, fill a bucket with soapy water, then turn off the hose. Clean the car then turn the water back on for rinsing. For more efficient water use, attach a spray nozzle to your water hose and use it for rinsing. Another way to save water when washing your car, is to use a waterless car-washing system. Check your local auto parts or retail store for brands and pricing.

Cleaning the Outside of Your House

When cleaning the outside of your house, use a power washer or spray nozzle on your hose. These devices will clean your house quicker and you won't waste as much water. Power washers are available at equipment rental centers and home improvement and hardware stores. Also, do not clean the outside of your house more often than once a year.
